Monster who raped & tortured woman before taking selfies with her is jailed

A MONSTER who raped and tortured his victim before taking SELFIES with her beaten body in a horrific attack has been jailed for 12 years.

Sick Daniel Machon repeatedly raped the woman and held a knife to her throat as he assaulted her in an attack that lasted hours.

Machon, 45, from Chigwell, Essex, even took gloating pictures with the victim as she lay suffering severe injuries.

Chelmsford Crown Court heard that he attacked on July 10 last year, and sent the horrific photos on to someone else.

Machon also burnt his victim, punched and kicked her repeatedly in the head and choked her to the point that she fell unconscious.

Yesterday he was caged for 12 years, after being found guilty of rape, one count of witness intimidation and six counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Despite her horrific injuries his victim bravely called 999 after he left her alone briefly, and managed to run out into the street when officers arrived.

Speaking after the sentencing, the brave victim thanked Essex Police officers for saving her from the horrific ordeal.

'PAIN AND HUMILIATION'

She said:“Firstly, I can’t describe the horror I went through at the hands of a monster.

"I just hope that no one ever has to experience the same pain and humiliation that I went through.

“I’d also like to pay tribute to the detectives who dealt with my case. Their hard work and determination throughout led to a rightful conviction.

"I can’t say thank you enough for their kind words throughout the ordeal, for the time and effort they all put in to help things run smoothly for me and for always taking the time to keep me updated on the case and for checking on my wellbeing.

“Lastly, I would like to thank the first officer I saw after escaping. His actions saved my life and he showed such bravery and compassion.”

Following the sentencing Det Sgt Bailey, s of Essex Police added: “My team and I are all seasoned detectives, but this case was the most harrowing any of us have ever had to deal with.

“We would like to pay tribute to victim who showed bravery and courage in supporting this prosecution and standing up in court to tell the jury about the horrific ordeal she went through.

“Her bravery made us even more determined to do all we could to support her through our investigation and to put Machon behind bars where he belongs.”
