The Georgian authorities are seeking to locate the person behind the drive-by shooting Thursday night that left a teenage boy dead a week before his 14th birthday.
The shooting which killed Brayan Zavala took place shortly after 9 p.m. On Thursday night.
Zavala was out of his family's home at Riverdale, doing yard work when he was shot in the face.
Brayan, a student at Kendrick Middle School, was pronounced dead on the spot.
WXIA was at the shooting scene on Friday morning, talking to Brayan 's brother, Jesus, who is 16.
Jesus said that, minutes before the shooting, a car was pulling up and a man wearing a ski mask came out of the car, brandishing a rifle.
"The shooter didn't even say, 'I want your money' or 'This is a robbery' or 'I'm assaulting you,'" Jesus said. "He just came there, stood in silence, and shot my brother."
The shooter fled the scene.
The gunman was not identified by the police at this time and remains on the loose.
Relatives said that the family of WXIA Brayan had moved to the area about four years ago.
A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to create Brayan as a memorial fund.
Detectives continue to work on the investigation, and have yet to officially address the possible motive behind the shooting.
Anyone with any details on the fatal shooting can call the Clayton County Police at (770) 477-3747.
